Valley of the Temples

The Valley of the Temples is a memorial park on the windward side of the island of Oahu, and overlooks the city of Kaneohe. It is a serene park full of lush gardens and beautiful scenery nestled at the foot of the majestic Ko'olau Mountain range. There are two Koi ponds on the grounds covering roughly two acres, and hundreds of peacocks can also be seen roaming the grounds as well.

There are thousands of Buddhists, Shinto, Catholic, and Protestant residents of Hawaii are buried here. The grounds also have a replica of the “Phoenix Hall” of the Byodo-In Temple Buddhist complex featuring a 3 meter Buddha Statue sitting on a lotus leaf. The grounds are also home to many Catholic statues depicting various saints, the Virgin Mary and the Passion of the Christ. Many influential people in Hawaii are housed in various crypts and mausoleums on the grounds including Walter F. Dillingham, a Hawaiian entrepreneur and statesman.
