Haleiwa, Oahu Hawaii

Haleiwa is a small community located on the north shore of Oahu, and on Waialua Bay. Haleiwa is the largest commercial center on the North Shore and its old plantation style is is preserved in many of the buildings. Haleiwa is one of the most popular destinations for tourists and residents with many diving and surfing sites all around.

The northern entrance to Haleiwa Town is marked by the historic Rainbow Bridge, which spans the Anahula River. There are two beach parks surrounding Haleiwa, Haleiwa Beach Park to the North and Ali'i Beach Park to the south. In 1898, a businessman named Benjamin Dillingham, opened the first hotel in the North Shore area and named it Haleiwa. In 1984 Haleiwa was designated a State Historic, Cultural, and Scenic District.
