My wife and I signed up for the Road to Hana through our cruise line. We could not have been more pleased with the tour. We want to give a shout out to the best and most entertaining tour guide we had with PAT...Kaui. He took us to spots that were not on the tour and made sure we got great pictures that will last a lifetime. He was very patient with everybody and we hope we can take the tour with him again. I want to send a BIG THANK's to Kimokeo, our Pearl Harbor tour guide. I belive that many heard of Pearl Harbor and what took place on that date Sunday Dec. 07, 1941. He presented the tour like no other, he brought this day to life. I have family in the armed forces and it touched me, to see what they go through for their country. Kimokeo was a VERY GOOD guide. We booked a tour via Carnival Fun Ship to Waimea Canyon & River tour. We were lucky enough to get "Lisa" as our tour/bus driver. She made this tour the best we have taken. Believe me, we have taken a lot of tour, cruising since 1986. Lisa filled us in on all the history of the island. She was courteous,friendly, spoke clearly, and was very informative. Lisa has the personality it takes to entertain a bus load of tourist while driving that hugh bus. The bus drivers often do not get recognition they deserve. I just wanted to say thank you again! My husband and I wanted to take the trip to Hana without the stress of driving for our first time, so that we could both enjoy the scenery. We could not have asked for a better and more knowledgable tour guide. I still remember all the names of the flowers we saw and most of the foliage growing alongside the road. We did the Volcano tour with LeRoy, and was it a great tour!! LeRoy was a great story teller and made the trip so enjoyable. Even though he is a cheesehead from Wiscosin he knew so much about Hawaii. Just wanted to let you know that our driver/tour guide Ed (just plain Ed) was wonderful. Our bus was on time and Ed had many bits of local history information to share with everyone the entire route of the tour many of which you would not find anywhere in the travel literature. The tours of the Arizona, Missouri and Bowfin were exceptional, I just wish we had more time to spend at Pearl Harbor. The tour of Honolulu and Punchbowl were equally exceptional. My wife and two grandsons were on the Elderhostel visit to Kilauea Point Lighthouse on Kauai. One of the grandsons left his backpack on the small tour bus that took us into the Lighthouse area and realized this after we had transferred to the larger bus for the trip back to the dock to board the cruise ship, Pride of America. The driver of the large bus, Juan, immediately got in touch by cellphone with the driver of the smaller bus, Loretta(?). She brought the backpack to us and personally gave it back to my grandson. We do appreciate the efficiency and care that the drivers had for us.Read more »
