Sunset Beach is on the North Shore of Oahu in Hawaii and known for big wave surfing during the winter season. The original Hawaiian name for this place is Paumalū. It is home to the Duke Kahanamoku Classic surfing competition, the ONeill World Cup of Surfing competition, and is occasionally the site of the Quiksilver Big Wave Invitational. Like many beaches on Oahus North Shore, Sunset Beach is considered dangerous for inexperienced surfers, due to extensive coral formations near the surface that present the risk of serious injury. Conditions for swimming change depending on the particular location and season. Generally speaking, the water is flat as a lake in the summers and has waves in the winters. All the surfing contests take place in the winter around December and January, that being the time of the biggest and best waves for surfing. Swimming conditions change from spot to spot along the beach. There is always a place to swim somewhere unless there is a storm condition happening at the moment.

It was my first trip to Oahu

It was my first trip to Oahu and I can say that this was the time of my life. I really enjoyed the Polynesian Tour and we had an excellent guide. We also got to see the island people climb the Palm trees to get coconuts and drop them down.
What's funny, is one of these guys drops one on the other guys head and he acts like he's injued...(part of the show)
The tour in the boat is astounding and the night show with the fire is something you must see..
A lot of these islanders that are in these shows are mostly college kids there studying and use this show for extra income....but there cool......
I would take this tour again, and also you can walk the polynesian trails and venture into huts, and many other buildings...really cool..

I was treated to a scenic

I was treated to a scenic tour of the East Side of Oahu as the bus ushered my group to the Polynesian Cultural Center. Not only were my eyes given a visual feast of Oahu's natural aesthetic, the tour bus driver was able to keep us entertained with interesting facts and tales of the island. Although I've lived here on the islands for a few years now, my curiosity would consume the folklore and tidbits of info that the driver would convey.

We got to the Cultural Center where we were given to a representative that really took care of us. Trust me, you want to go here with a guide of the cultural center, otherwise you will not get to visit the many places the center represents and experience all of the different cultures. The guy was funny and helpful.

At the end of the day most of us were exhausted from the whole day experience of the cultural center. The driver safely drove us home, allowing us to get some sleep. It was a great experience that anybody coming to the isles should try.

We booked 3 tours through

3

We booked 3 tours through this Tour company. Deluxe Island Circle Tour, Pearl Harbour Heros. and a flight and package for a tour of Kauai. A great guide and driver can truly enhance your travel experience and the knowledge, and professionalism of Kimo and Ernel was definitely worth the extra money you spend instead of doing it yourself. I think it truly helps to hire locals who have life experience and were either born in Hawaii or who have lived there most of their lives. I would absolutely recommend all three tours and this company, but especially these two guides. Nothing wrong with our third guide but much younger and not a local, and you could tell the difference.
